Description
One of the main issues in modern organizations is the moral issue. What kind of persons tend to be involved in this issue and what kind of factors trigger it in organizations? The aim of this paper is to indicate that any person has the potential for surpassing the acceptable limitations of morality in organizations. This paper calls such danger "moral traps" and categorizes them as the "unconscious trap," "trap in the gray zone," "trap in moral dilemma," "trap by organizational loyalty," "trap by temptation and pressure," and "trap as a means." This paper is based on the author's empirical experience at a corporation for 19 years and the theories of related issues pointed out by C. Barnard, L. Nash, L. Trevino, S. Milgram, and S. Gellerman.
