Description
On the spinocerebellar degeneration (SCD) patient, the inspection method for quantitatively evaluating the ataxia was examined. The relevance to inspection methods and clinical seriousness was statistically verified. 10 patients with the SCD (OPCA: 9 patients, MJD: 1 patient) in which the independent walking was possible were subjects. They were classified from I to III by the clinical seriousness classification. The following were carried out as conventional test methods: arm alternate repetition operation, writing letter analysis, heel-knee test, center of gravity oscillation inspection, walking speed, and language analysis. Walking analysis using the ground reaction force plate was carried out as dynamic evaluation method of leg ataxia. The Mann-Whitney test was used for the statistical analysis. As a result, there was a significant relevance between the time required of the alternate repetition operation, double supporting phase hour rate in the walking analysis and clinical seriousness. The alternate repetition performance test is a test method for ataxia which can be easily performed at the bedside. The double supporting phase hour rate shows the proportion in the time which simultaneously, has grounded both legs in walking. In short, the instability of walking because of ataxia seems to have been expressed. The tendency in which the test results deteriorated even in other inspections with deterioration was observed. However, there was an inconsistency of many results, even if the clinical seriousness was the same, and the significance could not be accepted. It was proven that double supporting phase temporal rate examined this time was useful for the patient walking functional evaluation. It was able to seem to apply it to recommendations and rehabilitation in daily life based on clinical seriousness.
