Description
This paper describes SPICE circuit simulation techniques for designing high-frequency analog circuits and mixed analog and digital circuits. First, techniques for extracting high-frequency MOS device parameters, generating noise, generating the correct output frequency spectrum, and simulation which accommodates the threshold voltage variation of MOS devices are described. Next, techniques for simulating the two-tone signal characteristics of a mixer, the phase noise characteristics of a voltage-controlled oscillator(VCO), the VCO's output characteristic, noise characteristics of a sample-and-hold circuit, the characteristics of a delta-sigma modulator, and crosstalk signals are presented.
