Description
Arc V-I Characteristics are necessary for calculation of voltage and current in electric circuit involving arc discharge. Arc V-I characteristics represent the relation among arc length, arc current, and arc voltage; and the relation is experimentally measured. The measuring method is divided roughly into two groups: (1) method using fixed electrode arc, and (2) method using opening electrode arc. The author is trying the method (2); and, in addition, uses arcs in inductive circuit. The V-I characteristics measured in this method has some advantages over the other method, in calculation of break arc voltage and current. This report explains the advantages of the present measuring method and represents some examples of measurements.
