Description

1. Separation of intracellular streptolysin S (ICH-S) and intracellular streptolysin O (ICH-O) contained in the streptococcal extract were achieved by gel filtration through Sephadex G-200.
2. ICH-S was a large complex nondif-fusible into the dextran gel and appeared in earlier fractions, while extracellular SRNA-SL was retarded and appeared in the rear frac-tions. ICH-O was similar to extracellular streptolysin O in respect of biological proper-ties as well as of the gel filtration behaviours.
3. The previous conclusion that RNA-SLS was formed by transferring the hemolytic component of ICH-S to AF, was reconfirmed by the gel filtration experiments.
The authors wish to express their appreciation to Profs. H. Okamoto and S. Kuno for their encourage-ment and for the criticism of the manuscript.
