<p>The purpose of this study is to develop a lighter and smaller auxiliary device that can assist the user’s waist to reduce burden a half-sitting posture of a worker. The auxiliary device consists of an upper half body part and a lower half body part. In this paper, we used a ratchet mechanism and a power spring in order to use a wire. The ratchet mechanism is used to adjust the half-sitting posture. The effectiveness of the proposed support device is verified by the result of the experiments.</p>
