Abstract

In this paper, the author reported the results of surveys of learners ' awareness concerning their working knowledge of kanji by using a "can-do statements" form, which were conducted in different levels of kanji class (Kanji800/Kanji 8, Kanji 600/Kanji 6, and Kanji 4) at the end of the spring and fall semester of 2014. The author discussed the relationship between the objectives of each kanji class and the learners' self-assessment of their own kanji ability.
