In this paper the author reported the results of surveys of learners ' awareness concerning their working knowledge of kanji by using a "can-do statements" form which were conducted in different levels of kanji class (Kanji800/Kanji 8 Kanji 600/Kanji 6 and Kanji 4) at the end of the spring and fall semester of 2014. The author discussed the relationship between the objectives of each kanji class and the learners' self-assessment of their own kanji ability.
