Description

L-Cystein (CysH) is produced from DL-2-thiazolin-4-carboxylic acid (ATC) using enzymatic activity of Pseudomonas strains, and the oxidized to produce L-cystine (Cys). Criteria for the optimization of the process producing Cys were studied for the scaling up of this process.<br> The oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) was found to be useful to optimize the process. The ORP value of -450 mV was optimum to produce Cys at the highest yield of 83% (mol yield) from the 75mg/mL of ATC in a bench plant scale reactor.
